The journey
Not a return to where she was—an arrival at where she was always meant to go.
Vanessa Jay Mulder returns with the WoWo Project after seven years away from releasing music. The project weaves R&B, neo-soul and hip-hop together with writing rooted in the present: female empowerment, finding one's voice and taking a social stand.
The lead single, WoWo (Wonderful Woman), begins as an imagined dialogue with Maya Angelou's Phenomenal Woman—a celebration of real, imperfect and proud women, passing the torch from one generation to the next and making room for every voice kept in the background for too long.
The sound is shaped by real hands: produced by Raffaele “Rabbo” Scogna and Marco Olivi. Mixed and mastered by Marco Olivi. The live band features Lucio Mastroianni on guitar, Bernardino Ponzani on drums, Angelo Nobili on bass and Ettore Mirabilia on keyboards.
