The WoWo Project marks Vanessa Jay Mulder's return to releasing music after seven years, yet its direction is entirely forward-looking. It is an arrival: the point where experience, identity and artistic freedom finally meet.
Born in Suriname, raised in Amsterdam and now based in Italy, Vanessa brings a journey shaped by different cultures, languages and sensibilities to her songwriting.
Throughout her career, she has shared the stage with artists including Zucchero and Raf and appeared as support act for Lauryn Hill and Rita Marley at Pisa's Metarock Festival. Her most treasured musical encounters also include Henry Padovani, co-founder and guitarist of the original line-up of The Police, who wrote “Baby You Left Me” for her.
